Music News

Ars nova is the ‘new art’ at NSU and music is its heart. The power it has to entertain and enlighten is what draws people to experience music through concerts, recitals, musical, and operatic productions, where the craft of the musician comes to life. Through intellectually challenging coursework and the excitement of live performance, students of music at NSU develop a solid musical foundation and grow as performing artists.

Throughout the year, technical abilities are practiced and improved in performances at the Miniaci Performing Arts Center, the Performing and Visual Arts Wing of the University Center, in classes, and in workshops all over NSU 's main campus and South Florida. Music students are encouraged to participate in all NSU productions—performing vocally or on their primary instrument, as well as experiencing the related fields of theatre and dance.

The Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences also partners with Ars Flores, Nova Southeastern University’s orchestra in residence.
