At the center of every great university is its library, a place where
ideas and opinions can be exchanged freely. NSU is
home to the largest library building in the state of Florida. Stunningly modern
and towering a full five stories, the 325,000 square-foot Alvin Sherman
Library, Research and Information Technology Center offers full collections
of research materials, specialized databases, popular fiction and nonfiction
books, magazines and journals, CDs and DVDs, along with
comfortable reading areas, 27 study rooms, a friendly café
and wireless access throughout the building.
It may be the first time in your life you’ve actually looked forward to hanging out in the library.
Did you know...
- Reference librarians are available to answer students' questions 7 days a week in person, or via phone, email, or chat.
- Students can make an appointment to meet one-on-one with a reference librarian in person or via phone for research assistance.
- Laptops may be checked out for use inside the Sherman Library.
- NSU is one of only six libraries in the U.S. to have an original Dale Chihuly glass sculpture, the NSU Glass Garden, unveiled in 2007. It joins Withstanding Presence, created by Beverly Pepper, and original Peter Max prints, art usually displayed only in museum settings.
