Newsletter

The Lifelong Learning Institute Newsletter is a member-led publication, envisioned and created by the dedicated LLI community. LLI members plan the layout of the newsletter, conduct interviews, carry out research, and write the articles. The newsletter’s goal is to let South Florida’s active, mature adults know about the exciting programs and achievements of the LLI.

This Fall issue of the LLI Newsletter has a bold mission: to introduce ourselves—the members, faculty, and staff of the LLI—to the residents of Broward County and to the faculty and staff of NSU. For more than 30 years, Nova Southeastern University’s Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences has supported this program for the benefit of the older, experienced adults of Broward County.

This issue will give you a glimpse of the opportunities offered to LLI members, including peer-led learning (Edith Bergman), excellence in classroom teaching (Judith Etzion), civic engagement (Ralph Di Santo), opportunities to audit college classes for personal growth (Miriam Lehrer), and intergenerational learning by groups of members in support of NSU programs and community outreach.

In the Winter issue, we will continue to feature additional elements of our program, such as recently completed research projects and accomplishments from the LLI's satellite locations.
