Submission Information
The Farquhar Student Journal. an online publication. is open to all current students in the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences, undergraduates from other NSU colleges and centers, and Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences graduates within the past two years. The primary author must be a student. However, faculty and/or members of other universities can be secondary authors.
Authors must have an NSU faculty member sponsor them to ensure the quality of their paper. Each sponsor must be an NSU faculty member from the academic division in which the research/scholarship is done. A letter from the sponsor must accompany the manuscript if it is to be considered for publication, certifying that:
- The work was done by the author as an undergraduate
- The sponsor has read and critiqued the manuscript
- The sponsor is willing to be acknowledged in the paper if the student wishes to do so
Procedures for submitting work to FSJ:
- Students must electronically submit their abstract, biographical sketch, and article to fsj@nova.edu by
the submission deadline. The email, via the student's NSU email account, must include:
- Cover page, including name, mailing address, telephone, email address, a short biographical sketch, and CITI completion certificate (if research was done with human subjects) [The website is www.citiprogram.org.]
- Abstract
- The original article
- Articles should be submitted as Word documents.
- The Farquhar Student Journal is an online publication. As such, there is no minimum or maximum length to a student's submission. However, manuscripts should be around 10 pages, double-spaced.
- Students should use the style format appropriate to their particular field (e.g., APA, MLA, Chicago, etc).
- Authors will be notified by email if their work is accepted, needs revision, or is rejected.
- Authors will receive two anonymous written critiques.
