Performing and Visual Arts Grand Opening

Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences Celebrates Grand Opening of Performing and Visual Arts Wing with Weekend of Events The Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences opened its new Performing and Visual Arts Wing in the University Center with a weekend of festivities and performances October 3 through October 5, 2008. On October 3, NSU students, faculty, and staff toured the new facilities, which span three floors and include more than 20 state-of-the-art studios and classrooms designed for music, dance, art, and theater. The college hosted interactive “creation stations,” inviting members of the NSU community to paint by numbers, learn how to dance, warm up their voices in a choir rehearsal, and participate in an assortment of other artistic activities. The college also sponsored a “Happy Hour” during Flight Deck Friday, providing food, drinks, and live entertainment from a steel-drum band. The night culminated with the initial performance of Opening Night: Say It Somehow by members of the college’s Performing and Visual Arts Program. |
