Office of Academic Advising
Academic advisors provide confidential academic, social, and developmental advising to ensure that students receive the individual attention they need to succeed. All undergraduate students should contact an academic advisor before entering a program, registering for classes, changing their specializations/concentrations, requesting transfer of credits, or attempting to meet specific renewal or certification requirements.
Students should maintain regular contact with their academic advisors throughout their college career in conjunction with discussing their education with faculty members, program administrators, and directors. Academic advisors can also help students gain assistance from other NSU divisions or other available resources. Students are encouraged to consult with an academic advisor if they believe their student rights have been violated, as well.
All students in their first year at NSU (freshmen and transfer students) must register for classes with their academic advisor. Continuing students can register online or directly with their academic advisor. To make an appointment, please contact the Office of Academic Advising at (954) 262-7990.
